The Shoulder Center of Kentucky recently held the 11th Annual Shoulder Symposium July 18 and 19 in Lexington, Kentucky. Covering the scapula and the overhead athlete, the conference welcomed a record number of national and international attendees.

Lead by W. Ben Kibler, M.D., attendees participated in informative lecture sessions, lively discussion panels, and hands on therapy demonstrations. The conference featured 12 distinguished guest speakers including Champ Baker, M.D., president of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine and Columbus State University team physician, John E. (Jed) Kuhn, M.D., Associate professor at Vanderbilt University and Chief of Shoulder Surgery at Vanderbilt Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery Center and Tim Uhl, PhD., PT, ATC—Associate professor from the University of Kentucky Kinesiology and Health Promotion, Research and Graduate studies. Presenting from Lexington Clinic Orthopedics–Sports Medicine: David C. Dome, M.D. ATC, Peter Hester, M.D., Aaron Sciascia, MS, ATC, NS, Mike Smith, MS ATC CSCS – Minor League Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for the Houston Astros and Robin Cromwell, PT.

The two-day annual symposium provides an engaging and dynamic learning experience and attracts participants from around the nation and around the world. Participants are continually impressed with the caliber of the conference and the opportunity it provides to interact and learn from some of the best minds in the field.
